Data collection and Leica Zeno 20
The Leica Zeno 20 was also launched at our roadshows incorporated into a presentation named ‘Redefining Data Collection’. Introduced by Nathan Ward – Market Segment Manager for Asset Management, Nathan reviewed the role that GIS has on our daily lives as well as looking at the importance of data capture for your business.
The exciting new Leica Zeno 20 was also launched at the roadshows. The Leica Zeno 20 is a handheld data collector tool that can run on an Android or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5.3 operating system. This exciting new piece of technology means that users can now download their favourite Android apps to customise this robust and highly precise data collector into a device as simple to use as their own smartphones.
Robust and easy to use with GNSS performance at the forefront of its design, the Leica Zeno 20 can be used by anyone everywhere and Nathan explained how you don’t have to be a GIS professional. It is simplicity without limitations and the device allows precision measurement and reliable data collection. Applications include, providing ground control for UAS aerial photography, BIM data and forestry management.

Leica ScanStations
April 2015 also saw the launch of our new Leica ScanStations P30 and P40 and P16. Paul Burrows delivered an excellent presentation on the new range of ScanStations available. Focusing on the benefits of the P40, Paul explained how it has an extraordinary scanning range of up to 270m and unlike other units on the market, the data quality at long range remains brilliant. The P40 is the perfect solution for any tasks in 3D laser scanning and is our long range premium model out of the series.
The P40 also allows you to set customised point spacing for your scans. The minimum point spacing is 4mm at 100m which is the minimum allowable to still qualify for Laser Class.
Within the ScanStation range the P30 was also presented, a high versatility scanner suitable for a wide range of typical scanning solutions. With its optimal mix of speed, range and accuracy paired with unmatched robustness it is the all-in-one solution for the most comprehensive variety of applications.
